The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reaffirmed its official trading hours for the year 2025, providing clarity to investors, brokers, and market participants. The announcement aims to ensure smooth functioning and transparency in the country’s financial markets.
According to the PSX, the regular trading hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The market follows a continuous trading session without a formal break, aligning with international best practices to maximize trading efficiency and liquidity.
The exchange remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on declared public and religious holidays announced at the start of each calendar year. Pre-opening sessions begin at 9:15 AM, allowing brokers to enter orders, while the post-close session (from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM) is reserved for closing price determination and final settlements.
The PSX further clarified that these timings are subject to change during the holy month of Ramadan, with adjusted hours to accommodate fasting routines. Traditionally, trading hours during Ramadan are shortened, and official notifications are issued in advance.
A PSX spokesperson stated, “Consistent market timings promote investor confidence, improve participation, and support efficient trading operations in Pakistan’s capital market.”
Investors are encouraged to stay updated via the PSX’s official website and circulars for any future revisions due to national emergencies, religious observances, or regulatory changes.
